8 th Annual Rummage Sale – June 7 – 9, 2007

The Rummage Sale was held for the second year at the Friendship Center . It just keeps getting better and better! The sale was expanded to 3 days, beginning on Thursday, June 7 th , and running until Sat. afternoon. Proceeds ran $7,298. Our many thanks to those who donated “gently used” items.

Warehouse Dance – July 21, 2007

The 2 nd Annual Warehouse Dance was a great success. Approximately 100 persons attended and enjoyed a BBQ meal and dancing. We charged admission and held a raffle, and realized a $650 profit. Beacock’s New Horizon Band once again provided the music. Many new faces saw our facility and learned of the ministry of Friends of the Carpenter.

Uptown Festival

Friends of the Carpenter decided not to participate in all of the activities of the Uptown Village Association this year, volunteering to just ‘man’ one of the information booths.

5 th Annual Auction – “At Home In The Northwest”

The Auction was held on Sat. October 6 th this year, and was attended by 200+ supporters. Jim Fischer and Ron Barnes provided the pre-dinner music while bidders viewed the 250 silent auction items. Some incredible Live Auction items were also offered, and at the end of the evening, $34,225 was raised.

Christmas With Jim Fischer & Friends Concert

For the fifth year, Jim Fischer organized a delightful Christmas Concert, bringing in many of his friends; The Clark College Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Touch of Class Chorale, Roosevelt School Ambassador Choir, The Tree Wiseman Sisters, and dancers from Dancefusion. This year the concert was held on Sunday, December 2. A wonderful talk was given by Shirley Knight, retired United Methodist Pastor, and a volunteer with the Tuesday morning Activity and Devotion time. She was able to share her experiences with the many attendees at the concert. For the first time, we had a ‘sold-out’ show at the 3:00 performance! Proceeds from ticket sales after expenses raised $8,700.

Christmas Open House

An Open House was held on Sunday, December 9 th . Over 100 participants and friends of Friends of the Carpenter visited the Friendship Center between 1 – 4 pm . Entertainment was provided by Mary LaFrance.

We thank the many volunteers who decorated, helped with cookies and goodies and provided the warm hospitality to make the Open House happen.
