“Changing
Lives With Love.” This tag line of Friends
of the Carpenter is based upon our Mission Statement:
Christ calls us to minister with all in need
of safe haven by being a caring fellowship and providing
a sense of purpose through interaction with people
of faith.
Though
it is difficult to accurately measure “a changed
life,” it is absolutely unmistakable to recognize
when it has happened in someone you know. Each day
we see and hear testimonies of people who Thank
God and Thank Friends of the Carpenter for their
“changed lives!”
This
annual report records the many numbers of individuals
“touched” through the donor dollars and volunteer
hours graciously given by dedicated disciples. However,
only God knows the total tabulations and what results
will be realized through the “seeds of love” that
have been sown.
Friends
of the Carpenter is now in out 13 th year. In many
ways, the organization is in its adolescence – young
enough to not have everything figured out, but old
enough to begin behaving like an adult. In some
ways it feels like we have behaved ourselves into
being without yet figuring out “who we want to be.”
The Board of Directors, the Staff and I are committed
to the ministry finding our maturity; to making
sure the diligence we are doing is moving us in
a direction and strategy to successfully accomplish
our long range mission.
As
you read the following pages, I trust you will find
facts and figures that convey the blessings which
have been bestowed through Friends of the Carpenter.
I hope you will feel a godly pride in your part
and the prayers you and others have given to under
gird the ministry. And I hope you will join me in
giving thanks to God, and to the many whom God has
used, to build up this part of the Body of Christ
and be a blessing to so many.
It
is an exciting time. We are thankful for all the
church partners and volunteers who have helped make
this ministry what it has become; but we are even
more excited about how we will join together to
follow God’s lead to what Friends of the Carpenter
will become!
It
will be my delight to visit with any who wish to
discuss the ministry and mission of Friends of the
Carpenter. Please call me or set up an appointment
where we can join in conversation and prayer as
this ministry moves into maturity.
Love
& Peace,
Duane
