Equipping the Churches

Church Liaisons  

Vital to maintaining good two-way communication between Friends of the Carpenter and our supporting Congregations are our Church Liaisons.  These ‘connecting links’ are much like the Branches that Jesus, the True Vine, spoke about to his disciples.  We work with over 50 Liaisons at 32 different Churches on a regular basis.  In early November, we held two Liaison meetings at the Friendship Center where we informed every one of our Holiday events, shared our plans for what would be coming in 2009, and invited comments and ideas from our Liaisons on ways that we could work even more closely.  Since there are Churches that support Friends of the Carpenter that have no active Liaison, we continue to seek out those who are ready and willing to take on that crucial role.

Product Displays  

Several area churches display or product at their church on selected Sunday’s – Trinity Lutheran, Beautiful Savior Lutheran, Messiah Lutheran, Cascades Presbyterian, St. John Presbyterian.

Special Event

On December 14, 2008, Hillcrest Nazarene Church presented a special comedy night – The Gift of Laughter, and Friends of the Carpenter was the recipient of the $300 profits.
